It's all in the family

While in Cape Cod for a wedding we stopped at a restaurant for lunch.  I made one last stop to the restroom before getting ready to make the drive back to Boston to catch our flight. As I looked in the mirror I noticed something weird on my necklace. The necklace is my late Grandma's and I have worn it many times without noticing the spot. It was a big clump of chocolate, she presumable left there after a candy splurge. I had to wipe it off which was unbearably sad to me, it made me realize that she was just here eating chocolate. I miss her more than words can describe.

I sat outside waiting for Justin so we could go to the airport, choking back tears. When she passed she gave me a lot of her necklaces, with my wedding approaching I desperately wanted to alter one of her necklaces to wear on my wedding day. But hadn't been able to. Necklaces were her thing, she always wore them, she had a million and she loved to share them.

As I sat there trying to pull myself together I had an undeniable urge to go look for my wedding necklace. I just started walking and came across a tiny estate antiques store. The owner had maybe a handful of necklaces, it felt like my Grandma grabbed my hand and directed me to this tiny blue box containing a gold necklace. The feeling is hard to describe but I know she was giving it to me, she was giving me one more necklace, the one I was waiting on.

She was my best friend and an amazing Grandma - Thank you for the beautiful necklace, I will keep it forever and wear it with pride!
